September Mouthful is going to be epic as we have a very special guest DJ this month. When I started going out in the 80's there was this amazing paradise of a place to dance. The music in this club was incredible, the place was packed full, hot and sweaty with an atmosphere full of excitement. I can remember the journey in the car to Camden and just couldn't wait to get there. Through the door of the pub, then through another to the back room...
It was smokey and the sounds hit you like a bat. Music I heard for the first time in the early days happened there. The club of course was ' The Fortissimo ' and the DJ at the time was of course our very own original and first 'Rohan The Man'. This guy dug out tunes that are now the very staple of the scene, this guy started it all.
Those tunes you now love and dance like mad to in the rhythm and blues ilk were brought out of obscurity by this man. To say I'm excited is an understatement.
All this said there will also be top DJ's; Tim Hellzapoppin' and Kid Krupa playing hot 78's too keep you all moving. Swing, Jazz, Jump, Rhythm & Blues as well as some nice early rock n' roll.

Hi folks! Well, June is nearly here and so is the football.. so, June is the last Mouthful until August :-(
As usual we have Tim Hellzapoppin' and Kid Krupa on the wheels of stone laying down some killa' tunes; Jazz, Blues, Jump and Swing as well as Rhythm and Blues all on original 78's.

The beginning of the evening will see Gaia teaching you some moves that you can hit the dance floor with from 7.30pm all the way till 2am!

We also have a couple of very special birthdays this month. The wonderful Dave Piggott and Juliette Sugg will both be celebrating so cake and dancing are the order of the evening.

We are also very pleased to announce that this month we also have a band the 'Jazz Cannibals' they played Mouthful last year and they went down a storm.

At the beginning of the evening if you are feeling a little shy then Gaia will take you through a few steps and get you moving with a dance lesson.

Well, the end of the year is coming fast and the cold weather is upon us. All that said it's going to yet another hot one at Mouthful where the heat gets turned up. 
This month we have Mr. Pucci "DJ Dynomeastro," turning the wick up with our usual crew Tim Hellzapooppin', Kid Krupa and Swing Maniac playing all original 78 rpm records.

The beginning of the evening will see you learning beginners swing dance with a lesson from Gaia so you can shake a leg during the evening. After the lesson the dance will start and go right along until 2am. Entry is just £7 all in, so see you there. :-)

MOUTHFUL O' JAM, 2015!

So January will see the New Year in with style, ok well a few days late, but it's a Saturday and well you have Sunday to recover. Taking the lead will be DJ stomp down Geoff Amabilino, Kid Krupa and Tim Hellzapoppin' and Richard Pucci chucking hot Jazz, Swing, Jump, Blues and Honkin' Rhythm & Blues right atcha!

Early on at the beginning of the evening have a relax at the bar, perhaps some wonderful pub grub, then get some moves with dance instructor Gaia. We open at 7.30pm so come in settle down and get ready. The pub will only be open till 1am on the 3rd, so make sure you get down early to have enough time to get warmed up!
Judging by how the most recent Mouthfuls have been you are in for a hot and entertaining night £7 entry all evening.

Mouthful O' Jam December 14th is going to be a real seasonal corker, as not only is it our Christmas Special, it is also our 4th year anniversary! The evening is going to kick off at 7.30 when our American swing dance instructor will teach you to shake your shimmy to the hot music and revels the evening has to offer. After the lesson the dancing starts and our underground DJ's Tim Hellzapoppin, Kid Krupa and Swing Maniac will take you through your paces, in fact these guys are so far underground they are going to kick your butt over to the dark side, playing original 78rpm recordings on vintage equipment, where jazz, swing, jump and blues are the order of the day. If you need a rest and you will need a rest you can sit, relax and chat in the chit chat chatty area to re-coup in the best original tavern in town. Then you can go back into the fray and dance to the most killa' music your ears have ever heard. Later on from 11.30, a late set by the best jazz band in town 'The Dakota Jim Band' feat Ewan Bleach on sax, Dakota Jim on accordion and clarinet and Louisa on vocal. After an awesome start to the new year with January and February, Mouthful is being packed not only with people but excitement! We plan to do it all over again. Please note this is the last Mouthful until May as we miss a month in April due to a venue booking. ADAMO CIARALLO:
Adamo discovered the blues when he went to his first swing festival. He left the party at 7am when he realized he was falling asleep on his partner's shoulder. Ironically, when he got to bed he couldn't sleep, still excited from that amazing experience and looking forward to the next bluesy night. Adamo teaches at Blues In My Shoes in London and has taught/will teach in Ireland, Spain and France. He is recognized as one of the most original, intense and musical dancer of the UK dance scene and has recently competed and placed 1st at the Berlin Blues Explosion in the division Jack and Jill and 3rd in the Strictly Blues.

GAIA FACCHINI:
Has been dancing Lindy Hop for more than 15 years. She started dancing in Portland Oregon where her passion for the music, style and social scene bloomed. Gaia has since danced and taught all over the world and Co-runs Mouthful O' Jam a successful vintage inspired monthly club in London. She has built her dance repertoire to over the years and focuses heavily on Blues, Balboa, Charleston and other vintage dances.
