Beginners Lindy Hop dance course

This class will be once a week for 5 weeks from 8pm-9:30pm, Thursday evenings starting on the 4th of November 2010.

Learn the partner dance that started them all in this intensive 5 week beginners class.
We will focus on laying strong foundations in the language Swing Dancing.
Strengthen your style, your moves and your dance confidence.

By the end of this class you'll have a solid grasp of Lindy Hop rhythm & musicality, connection, and a grab bag of moves that you can pull out on any dance floor.
This dance will have you smiling, sweating, and wishing for more! Musicality and passion for the dance is my main focus in teaching.

Full course is £40 per person, £70 per couple

Bellow is an outline for what we will be covering in the sessions.

8:00pm to 9:30pm, starting Thursday, 4th of Nov 2010

Week one:
- The history of Lindy Hop and other social dances
- The language of Swing dancing
- Frame between lead and follow
- Movement exercises for trust building in dance
- Basic Lindy Hop steps for lead and follow

Week two:
- Musicality
- Basic Lindy Hop steps review
- Frame review

Week three:
- Basic "Lindy Turn"
- Partner spins ans simple moves in "Lindy turn"

Week four:
- Lindy turns and more moves
- Putting the moves together
- Playing and improvising with Lindy hop

Week five:
- Review of last four weeks
- Combining all moves into one dance

Saturday October 2nd

I'm back and ready to get going!!!
This next Mouthful O' Jam is going to be delicious!
we have our usual suspects and a great Swing Dance Lesson starting at 7:30pm
Dancing and dining and drinking till 2am.
And the music, oh the music, to get that dancing going!
Most importantly dancing!

£5 entry

Swing dancing including but not limited to; Lindy Hop, Charleston, Shag, Balboa, 6 count, etc. etc.etc. Tango... whatever..
it's gonna be about being creative, trying new things. no pretentiousness!!!

I'll be there along with Paul, Swing Maniac (who will be DJIng) to help in anyway we can to those that have questions about a move or a style or spout our knowledge of interesting historical information that you probably wont be too amazed about... ;-)

Ok.... this one is gonna be amazing! we have the fantastic Paul Crook and Natasha Hall teaching the beginners swing dance lesson, starting at 7:30pm and more more more.

Killer Diller

We have so many exciting things coming up and we are planning already for next year!
Don't worry, you will all be told all about it!
In the mean time, make sure you watch out for us in Bristol at the Bristol Lindy Exchange/Swing Circus at the end of July, (the last weekend) 30th, 31st and 1st of Aug.
And also on Aug. 7th at the Salisbury pub on Green Lanes, North London, for our regular once a month event (1st Sat. of every month).
